I have been have psychotherapy since last summer, and my last session is on weds. I'm in such a better place, and I feel like my therapist has been instrumental in helping me get my future back for me and my son.....

So.... After that big build up.... Can I get her a thank you card? Is that crossing any professional boundary type things or would it be ok?

I'm so nervous about my sessions ending, I feel like I'm being unleashed on to the world without stabilisers or something!

Ah thank you for replying, I didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable or cross any unspoken boundaries or anything! Thanks you :)

Definitely send a card, I had one recently from somebody who I'd been working with for quite some time and it really meant a lot.

I agree with Freudian, she probably doesn't get a lot of thank yous and she'd be happy to know she's helped and you're grateful for that!

sillymillyb · 27/07/2013 21:19

Oh I'm pleased. I wanted her to know the difference she has made, but I wasn't sure of the etiquette!

God, now I just have to figure out what to write in it!

Thank you again for your opinions, I'm relieved!
