Cliff Richard actually said that about his mother who had dementia. but it applies to depression too.

it was something like the above or he said 'it doesnt take your life but stops you living'.

either way he was right. but this is depression isnt it?

plus. I dont mind being ivisible but i dont like being ignored.

Invisible in the sense Im not a good looking person so dont mind people not looking at me, but Im still here. does that make any sense?

Im still a person with something to say.

but depression doesnt LET you live. No matter how hard you try, it doesnt go away. ever.

Just wanted to share that and see if its ignored Hmm !!!

I have got to the point where if I say something and it goes over someones head I now say out loud in front of them the line that Chandler said in 'friends' : Do I use my invisibilty to fight crime, or for evil?

that usually works!

Quite a lot of people have depression and it goes away.
Some people get it back again sometime, but not all.
Depression can come and go in a person's life.

You sound unwell at the moment.
Have you been to see a GP?

GameSetAndMatch · 06/07/2013 19:06

Yes I have. my depression has been lifelong. My grandmother had it too, as does an Aunt of mine.

Just something I have to live with. just wanted to sahre that little nugget and see if anyone else feels like it too.

I know what you mean. Some days I feel like I'm surviving instead of living. I try to take the most out of the days where I can grasp a sense of happiness.

Yes. It's horrible.

I thought (hoped) I'd escaped my depression because last year, for the first time in about 10 years I was actually truly happy and mostly content. Now I'm in the middle of the worst bout I've had in like ever. Without going into too much detail, I have not been coping well.

Im sorry to hear about yours too, fellow posters.

lemele I do empathise, me too.

Even Andy Murray winning yesterday was a trial for me, kind of happy and sad at the same time.

I know the heat isnt helping matters !

and poor mimigame gets the brunt of it too, but my child also has inherited it from me.
