If I tell gp how bad I am actually feeling - will my son get taken away from me? I am worries that they will use it against me and my husband and social services will think I'm unfit and take my son away

Someone will come along shortly with more advice than I can give - but no, they will not take your son away. Your GP is there to he,p you. And the best place for your little boy is with his mummy, especially if she's getting the help she needs :)

How old is your DS? xx

No they won't take your son away that would be an absolutely last resort, your gp should/would help you to get better, book an app with a sympathetic gp and let them know how you feel there is help out there, I went to my gp last year in a desperate state I'd even planned out how I would end it all, my gp was brilliant I had the mental health nurse cpn, come and visit and had counselling and my gp saw me weekly and 7 months later I am in a much much better place I am a single parent and at no time were my children at risk,
my gps main concern was getting me better so I could continue to be a mum, keep my job and keep a roof over our heads. Xx

Thanks for your kindness
My son is 2. I feel like I'm drowning. I don't want him growing up without a mum and I don't want my parents to have to cope with me dying otherwise I would like to die.

Social Care should not get involved if you seek help from gp. The only time they would be involved is if you self harm and present at a&e, as hospitals usually inform health visitor and or social care then. Does not mean you will get a visit but you may. Seeking help and getting help shows you care and is no different from any other illness.

It's fantastic that you're planning on seeking help OP. Please keep talking here too :) Even though you feel like you're drowing now, you can change that with support.

Give your GP a call in the morning and make an appointment, love. Is your normal GP helpful/nice?

Sending hugs your way xx

I get the option sometimes to see a female gp who is nice.
Thank you for all your support. I was on citalopram Nd I think I need to go back on it.
Thanks again all Thanks

They won't, my gp sent me to a&e at the weekend and they contacted social services. They haven't got in touch with me, 5 days later. My support worker said they'll probably touch base with her and that's it.
