I think I am depressed again

I need to go back to the doctors don't I?

Christ on a bike. There is no shame in it but I really thought I had jumped that hurdle.

Pointless thread. Please ignore.

Sometimes it does come back, but if you've beaten it before you know you can again. The important thing its that you've recognised it, so you can get help and treatment. Please do! And post again if you want to, the thread is not pointless.

It is a fucker isn't it. Go to the doctors, start running, cry on friends shoulders, just do whatever you did to beat it last time. You will beat it again. Good luck.

Thanks. I've been denying it for a few months but I can't carry on. I told my sister last night and she cried for me Sad

I'll have to talk to the doctor about medication options. Sertraline did nothing for me so I was on Mirtazapene for years but I piled on a lot of weight despite eating a normal diet.

Citalopram is good for me. I totally get your comment that you had jumped that hurdle already. I was first depressed many years ago, so when it returned last year I was shocked and also annoyed. I'd fought that battle already. Vent on here, and it also sounds like your sister is a good support for you.

My sister is lovely and is currently helping me through a very bad time.

Citalopram is in the SSRI class I think, like Sertraline? I tried a few SSRIs but they just don't work. So it's probably back to being on Mirtazapene. I have an appointment later this week. I am incredibly sad today and trying to cheer myself up by posting around and about MN. I am going out later though, so it's not all computer based therapy Grin

Thank you for replying and understanding. It helps.

I'm in the same boat MsNobodyAgain. I came on MN to post the same thing! Well I'm glad I'm not on my own.

I finished Fluoxetine about a month ago and when the ground didn't swallow me up, I thought that's it, done with.

Does this mean continuous medication for life?

MsNobodyAgain · 21/08/2012 15:58

Hopefully not ramade but if it takes continuous medication to stay sane and cope, I'm signing up. The alternative is dire.
