What little positive thing have you done today?

I've started a course of CBT recently and was advised to keep a 'Positive Journal'
This little book of small victories adds up to a catalogue of positive steps forward and reminds me that one step at a time i'm making progress and am in control.
So what little positive thing have you done today?

I lost my job about 3 weeks ago and am having trouble with money and all kinds of family rubbish but even though I am prone to depression I am managing to cope (mostly) by keeping busy and having lots of small targets.

I have 2 interviews today and another one on Monday pm. I had one yesterday which seemed really good. But this morning I got something from a website I have an ad on. The job looks lovely. I'm trying really hard to keep going on the positive treadmill for my family.

Good luck happy! But dont forget all the small things each day too! Big steps like a job are fab, but lots of little steps keep you going too!

As an agoraphobic who has been having a REALLY bad week, I have been to the corner shop to get the newspapers!!

I tried CBT a few years ago and found the therapist not very helpful at all. Love this idea of keeping a positive journal and have just hunted out a jotter and pen and written my first entry (made cinnamon toast for the first time for my ds)!
Am goin through a really bad time at work and am on long term sick (3months), and despite being eligible for being on full pay for a further 3 months, management are tryin to dismiss me early using loopholes in their sickness policy (ie if my absence may be to the detriment of the workplace). Never had a day off in 18yrs of my chosen career but am being treated appallingly! Self esteem at rick bottom so any positives have been hard to acknowledge!
Will keep my diary as a way of reminding myself that I'm not the problem; they are!!

I had CBT last year, but (surprise, surprise!!), I had a hard time getting there!! Shame they don't offer a few home-based sessions.

Left washing in the machine overnight inc. work trousers for work at 2pm...
Woken by noisy attention-seeking cat....
Very windy, cloudy but warm so when i let cat out i actually hung the washing out too - & it dried in 2 hours - no creases too, yay!
Not bothered to do that for @ least 6 weeks!
Felt inspired then so washed one load of knickers, socks, leggings & work tunics.
Now in dryer.

I think just getting everything together to apply for the job is enough for me

weevilswobble · 17/06/2012 01:44

Thanks Weevils!

Havent written in my positive book over the weekend, coz just feeling perky and ok. Maybe comes from starting to learn not to think about the negatives! Yay!
Have embraced DP's need to watch footie and even suggested we go to the pub to watch it together. (also learning about making the transition from being self sufficient, independent SP to being someones other half! Although not living together yet)

I asked DS where his nose was and he pointed to it for the first time - made me feel warm and proud as I'm the only one who speaks English to him.

I've not achieved very much today, which doesn't help when on a spiral day.

dolally and weevils amazing, well done both of you!

I bought a stranger her car park ticket as we were both after the same park, but I was there first and felt sorry for her as there were no others available
