Been to GP today who has contacted the acute team and asked for assessment urgently.

If i call the out of hours number and say I don't want to be seen will they cancel the referral?

Maybe it's best to be assessed though, why have you changed your mind?

I don't want them to say I'm ill, I will manage, I'm just at the end of my phased return from work after 9 weeks off, I CANT be off again,

They might help you with strategies to stay at work though. Try and look at it as a positive step, not a negative step.

There is little point in pretending not to be ill when you are ill. It will catch up and then the mess will be greater

Most people are not referred to the acute team for urgent referral - something must be really not right.

Get assessed. Please.

Oh hun of course you want to be well Sad - I know that feeling all too well. I got terribly stressed when it took much longer than I wanted to be well again.

But denial doesn't make you well. Treatment does!

They won't make me go in will they?
I just feel flat, I can switch it on for work, although I have used more dry shampoo and baby wipes than is good for me, ffs, I can't even make sure I'm properly showered and dressed- it's just one more thing to do, so I'm not "offensive"Blush

They tend to prefer treating you in the community so it depends whether you are a serious risk to yourself. (You don't sound a serious risk to others).

Do do stick to referral. Get as much help as you can. It is help for you and family. Stick in there. It feels like you will never emerge but you will. Really you will. And even if you don't believe it, take it from me and others, and keep repeating to yourself "I will feel better again". It does help, you just have to take it on trust, and stick with it
You do sound like you might have a great factor on your side: you have ideas about what you want to achieve, and you can use it to help you direct your own recovery.
Take good care. And do let people help: they want to help.

I'm nodding to everything madmouse says. They would prefer to treat you at home. They'd only bring you in if you were a risk to yourself or others. The fact that you are back at work would suggest you are neither.

They can hopefully help you over this flat period.

Thanks everyone, I'm just trying to second guess what's going to happen - I work on social care Wink hint - its not great for your health! I'm flat, I want to be invisible, just for a while, not a permanent option - which is positive I suppose, could be do much worse

Just to say, I didn't cancel, in fact the GP hadn't even done the referral as "she was going to do it later today"
Let's just say, thank goodness for the crisis team and MIND
