Can PND re occur?

What it is, I suffered with PND 3 months after ds2 was born and I was on AD's for about 2 years. DS2 is now 3 and a half and I am starting to have the same thoughts/feelings I did when I first had PND.

Would this be it re occuring or do you think this is just plain old Depression?

Do you think that it ever completely went? If you've felt 100% for the last year and a half, I'd think that it is more likely to be depression than PND. That said, I have no knowledge on which to base that.

Did the AD's help last time? Could you see about starting them again? Has anything changed lately? I know that I always feel worse in the winter, and can't wait until it gets warmer and brighter.

Thanks for your reply Laura.

I was thinking it may just be because its winter and the lull after Christmas. Also I have had no job since the new year, but that isnt really getting me down. It just came on suddenly in the first few weeks of Jan - nothing triggered it that I can think of.

I will see how I get on and myabe if it keeps on I will have to go and see my GP and maybe start AD's again (they did help last time btw)

i'm no expert myself but i do remember when i suffered from this, i was told that it can re-occur and that i should never be afraid to go back to the doctor for treatment again.

Oh really? It does feel the same as it did, so maybe it can. If I dont start feeling better I will go to see my GP. I was so pleased when I finally came off the AD's it would just be a shame to have to start them again - but then if they are going to make me feel better then thats what I will have to do.

Once you've had some sort of depression, you are more likely to suffer from it again

Yes I suppose that makes sense
