Right.. well I have always been a worrier ( a serious worrier) but since having my DD 13mo, I am constantly tired/exhausted (even though she is sleeping!!), palpatations, tight chest, headaches, worrying over really silly things (even for me) and just really feeling "not me" if you know what I mean and feeling very low.

Went to the GP a few months ago, who ruled out, Thyriod, anemia etc.

My aunt suffers from anxiety and said this is what she thinks it is, i have got a gp app on Friday as cannot go on like this for much more.

Does anyone suffer from anxiety, do you think this is what it could be? and what helped you really?

Well yes it does sound so. Anxiety is just another word for worry. Anything particular getting to you?

I suppose I havent had the easiest of years, at 33wks pg i had a bleed, then my grandad passed away, then had awful labour, 3rd degree tears etc, then my nan passed away, then my mum went off the rails and other family troubles and my poor DD has not been a very "happy " baby, so actually yes when you write it all down I suppose alot has been happening.
Do you think it will just get better on its own?
The main thing is the tiredness, am having at least 8 hours per night but just feel shattered all the time.
Thank you for responding!

Hi, why don't you ask the gp about counselling for anxiety or maybe if there is some medication you can take to 'chill' you out? Try and relax and get some time for yourself away from the little one, go for a walk, run, coffee with friends, something you enjoy. All the best (from a fellow worrier!)

Just crossed threads with your post about the tragic changes in your life just recently. I would really ask for advice bearing in mind these massive changes!

Thanks Giggle, yes time apart from my DD would be fab, havent had anytime without her since last JUNE!! I don't really have anyone to help, which I suppose doesnt help.
Do you think that all the dramas in my life have contributed to this feeling? Just hope the GP is understanding... as some arent!!

A lot has happened to you in the past year/few years. Enough to give the worry part of your brain the signal that things just go wrong all the time and that you better stay on alert for the next emergency.

It may get better on its own but why struggle along when some help may get you there much quicker. Some counselling may well help. Just to talk it through with someone who will listen or CBT therapy to help you change the worry-thinking.

It is also important to realise that the physical symptoms of anxiety like the ones you describe are annoying but innocent and won't harm you so try not to be afraid of them. Thinks that can help lessen the acute feelings are going for a walk, having a warm bath or shower, even making a cup of tea. If your chest feels tight try to remind yourself to breathe in for 4 out for 4 in your tummy, just push your tummy out against your hands.
