Just so low and lonely

Ok, finally admitting to myself that it's more than just baby blues.
I moved house for my husband's work when 7 1/2 months pregnant. I was sure that I would soon meet people in antenatal classes but was soon told they were all full. I tried and tried to get into something but it was like banging my head against a brick wall.
I left my job and friends behind, my family are all in Wales and I know no one within 200 miles. MW and HV have been hopeless.
Love baby to bits but cry all the time and can't function properly.
Everyone else seems to know loads of mums but i feel completely shut out of it all. Beginning to get agoraphobic too.
Feel completely hopeless and pathetic.
Help.

if im waiting for a nice day here,dd will be ready to start school by then!!think i will go for a walk along the beach if its dry.our shops close at midday here on a wednesday,so cant even go to the shops!(takes most of morning to get kids ready for school-dh takes them-also have to give dd medicines and physio)so will be around midday when get out.mustnt think 'not much point in going out'

Rhian101 · 17/01/2006 19:29

Think positively. Even half an hour is better than nothing. I actually feel like I could do it tomorrow, just got to hold onto that feeling and not give in to, "I can always do it on Thursday".

Rhian101 · 17/01/2006 19:54

I'm so glad you got in touch, I feel so much better than just hours ago! If ever you're in nottinghamshire...
Thank you, and make sure you go for that walk!

I will check this thread tomorrow and make sure you two have been out! lol half an hour at least girlies! I know it it will be a real drag (I sometimes make excuses not to go out! even housework!) Just think how good you will feel tomorrow.

Rhian101 · 17/01/2006 20:12

Rhian101 · 18/01/2006 10:40

Am determined to leave the house by midday! Feeling quite confident that I might actually succeed!
If you had told me yesterday that I'd be doing this today I would never have believed it. Just got to keep telling myself that this cannot be put off until tomorrow. Are you with me Stephanie?

OP posts:
Rhian101 · 18/01/2006 10:41

Weather here is very cloudy - possible rain - , but I think I have to try regardless of the weather!

OP posts:
stephanie21 · 18/01/2006 11:25

weather is the same here rhian, bloody miserable!just got the washer on and when its done i'm off out!i will do this!think might go to the garage and get a choc bar to celebrate!!!!feeling really possitive today, how about you?

emily05 · 18/01/2006 12:52

spoke too soon - raining here as well! Mind you ds loves puddle jumping and think that I will put some waterproofs on him and go and get wet! lol

I also feel more positive today - I think that it helps to have other people who are in the same boat.

stephanie, lol at your infestation! you poor thing! they are doing the rounds at ds nursery so no doubt it is only a matter of time!

right your guys - I will be back in a couple of hours to make sure (no matter what weather) that you have both been out! even 10 minutes is good - go for it!

Rhian101 · 18/01/2006 13:47

I did it!
Seems ridiculous that I feel so proud about leaving the house for half an hour, but I do
Feeling so much more positive - thank you so much!
Hope the infestation is clearing up Stephanie, lol, my eldest keeps getting them, very annoying - hate them!

stephanie21 · 18/01/2006 15:53

hiyah!well done you two!i went to bus stop to meet eldest ds off the bus.only out for 15 minutes, but its raining,so thats not too bad.dd's are ponging my house out!made them put wooly hats on then hoods ontop of hats when we went out!am ashamed!!!!!youngest dd is now flaked out on setee after our little trip to the bus stop!am planning on going for proper walk tomorrow if weather is ok.feel alot better with having others to talk to that are in same boat aswell.thanks you two!

Rhian101 · 18/01/2006 16:29

I know what you mean, and 15 minutes is still getting out! So pleased we didn't let the rain be an excuse not to do it. I felt so alone yesterday and now I feel like a light has come on again! Funny how things can appear so completely hopeless one minute and then all it takes is a couple of people to reach out and share their feelings too and the world doesn't seem so big and scary.

OP posts:
stephanie21 · 18/01/2006 16:31

i know exactly what you mean!have told the kids that after school tomorrow night we will take the dog to the beach.so it better not be raining!!

Rhian101 · 18/01/2006 16:49

Brilliant. I'm planning on taking my 7 yr old to feed the ducks after school. I'm completely behind on the housework, but still feel like i've actually achieved something. Very silly.

OP posts:
stephanie21 · 18/01/2006 17:00

housework can wait!we need to find our social lives again!!

Rhian101 · 18/01/2006 18:08

Too true!

OP posts:
emily05 · 19/01/2006 13:13

well done you two! I always think that January is a crap noths, cold and gloomy and you feel like staying in. Have you guys been out today? I made the effort and dragged myself to the library with ds. Really didnt want to go but felt better once I did.

Agree about housework! lol If you are not in the house will be tidier because the kids cant mess it up!

Rhian101 · 19/01/2006 14:34

Walked from the car to baby clinic, does that count, LoL
Planning on taking my boys to the park once I pick up ds1 from school. Am really determined to try and get out of the house for no particular reason every day. It's so easy to only do stuff when you've got appointments etc.
How do you stop husbands from making a mess then? LoL
Are you still planning on going to the beach Stephanie?

OP posts:
stephanie21 · 19/01/2006 14:38

Rhian101 · 19/01/2006 14:48

At least you got outside. It's not raining here yet, but very overcast. Damn the british weather! Here we are being all good and determined and the world is working against us! LoL
