Things I HATE about PND . . .

I'm very much starting to believe there is no God. Honestly. And I never thought I'd ever say that.

I definitely don't believe in all that karma, goes around comes around, etc. stuff.

I hate feeling like a miserable failure.

I hate feeling totally out of control.

I hate pretending that everything's fine.

I hate not enjoying my child's babyhood.

I hate wishing this part of my life were in the past.

I could go on and on. Anyone else?

As someone who went through this with both dss, (now 2.5 & 5.5) I can relate to you all. When I first saw the title of this thread I wanted to say "people who tell you, we all were a bit down after having baby" and not really understanding where you are.

I hope that things get better, they will honest! and just know that you will come out the other side!

hope you feel better soon expat.
Depression is such a horrible illness, and facing it for the second time must be very wearing.

Thanks, all. A bit better today. It helps when the weather is good. FUnny how that can affect one's mood.

Baby Roisin started smiling today! She's 5 weeks old now and already grown out of her 0-3 months babygros.

DH took her overnight - she has EBM in a bottle every other night so I get a break - and when I came in she was waking up and she smiled and smiled at me when I greeted her.

Made my day, as did drawing w/DD1.

We start baby massage class tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to that. Hope Roisin doesn't mind, as she seems to hate being stripped to her nappy.

Oh, here's my favourite moan about people who've never had PND:
'You should be grateful for the family you have.'

I never said I wasn't. And geez, thanks for the pick me up.

That first smile is fantastic isn't it! I remember DS's first smile. I think he was about 8 weeks.

Glad you got a rest - a decent sleep really helps.
