CBT at home

I suffer with depression and anxiety, a few months ago I came off my depressants. I'm in a pretty good place right now but some of the issues that have caused my illness are hindering my recovery.

Basically have any of you done any CBT courses at home? I work 5 days a week and time off is a no no.

I really want to get these issues dealt with so that I can move on with my life and make sure these issues don't haunt me anymore.

I think it depends on how well you might cope without the guidance of a "live" therapist. I've recently been using the Mood Gym and found it useful, though I also have a counsellor I see once a week. It works best if you can devote about an hour at a time to it.

Do look around though, a lot of counselling services offer evening and/or Saturday appointments as they're aware that a lot of people have inflexible work commitments.

I think there are some phone-based services as well, but unfortunately I don't have any details.

DH was offered online CBT through the NHS. He didn't do it in the end because his company referred him to a H&S consultant and they registered him disabled. This meant he had to be given the time off for CBT. He worked from home on the days he needed to see his therapist, although the working from home one day a week had been established for a few years before that anyway.
