Is it possible to experience PND up to 3 years after the birth of your child?

Or is it then common garden run of the mill depression then?

Do you mean it starting after 3 years, or still be suffering with it after 3 years, Donbean? I've had PND for 4.5 years, although I think at this stage it's probably just depression which happened to be triggered by the birth and didn't go away.

Well, its been since ds was born getting worse and worse. I think that the Gp put it down as PND but i didnt think that this far down the line it would be that.
Just curious thats all.
Sounds like im wallowing reading back and im not. I feel much much better and am really enjoying ds now, thanks to happy pills.

You say that you are still suffering 4 years on WWB, are you on tablets at all. ( you dont have to answer if im bieng too personal)

I came off them about 6 months ago because they were doing my head in, I felt worse on them than off and when I stopped taking the one brand to try another I realised that I hadn't been "feeling", if you know what I mean - I was numb, and I'd almost rather feel the depression than feel nothing at all. Stopping them also took away a really horrid side-effect that I didn't want back again, so I decided to stop them. It was probably not the right decision in a lot of ways but then again I don't think they were helping so it wasn't the wrong decision either.

I do think I'm predisposed to depression and that maybe it wasn't really PND with me, just depression which was triggered by having dd, which is perhaps why it's still here so much later.
