Has anyone ever felt like this, like you've reached the limit of suffering you can actually reach and either things get better or you ... opt out I suppose? Any thoughts? :(

I've never felt like killing myself if thats what youm ean

but I have 'given up' a good few times

feeling that I just cannot go on and I want to get off the world, its too much

are you suicidal, is there anyone with you

do you want to talk about it?

madmouse · 22/05/2011 12:49

Yes - lots of times when I was very overwhelmed by flashbacks and memories when I had PTSD and really anxious so as soon as my ds as much as sneezed it got too much. I had a permanent back up plan of jumping off the the motorway bridge. Set out to actually do it once but in the end texted a friend who came to get me.

What support and treatment are you having and when did you last see the doctor?

drivenmadbycats · 22/05/2011 13:24

none, I've never seen the doctor as they can only help with tablets and I know I feel the way I do because of circumstances but they won't change. I can't afford counselling. thanks for your replies.

Your GP can help with more than tablets, he/she could arrange some counselling or CBT if they decide thats the best course of action, if you feel the way you do because of circumstances then you really should go and see your GP to get some help so that you can change or manage your circumstances better, you dont have to feel this way.

drivenmadbycats · 22/05/2011 13:57

thank you but they won't help because of DHs income we have to pay for counselling but just can't afford it x

honestly you get get free counselling whatever your income from GP - and mine was brilliant at just talking - maybe make a double appointment?

betterwhenthesunshines · 24/05/2011 12:52

Have seriously about driving my car under a lorry... not a good idea. Pills have a part to play - they may help you get to a place where you can at least start to think clearly. Can you go the GP, but take someone with you? Just because you might need some medication now doesn't mean you will have to take them for ever. Maybe you can them until you can get some counselling support?

blushingm · 24/05/2011 13:24

i've had cbt on the nhs - both me and dh work. it's not means tested or anything

wellamI1981 · 24/05/2011 15:49

I often feel like I cant cope anymore but I'm too 'chicken' to ever end it. What helps for me is thinking 'I won't feel likethiss forever'.

Yesi have.

CBT is available on the NHS without even being asked about income.

Do you have anyone IRL you can speak to?

scurryfunge · 24/05/2011 15:52
