Been very slowing cutting down with a view to stopping them in about a month (TTC). I'm only on 10mg atm (after cutting down from 40mg) and it's the last bit that's the hardest.

I've been alternative full pills with half pills for a week, intending to go to full 10mg one day, then 2 days on half.. doing it as slowly as I can. After that I'll try and go to half a pill every day for a week, and then just stop. I've got lots of good things planned for the next couple of weeks, planning on keeping busy, but i'm getting the teeth clenching anxiety and have a very short fuse with DS. constantly twitchy and angry and trying to control it. Feels a bit like giving up smoking but not so extreme..

just looking for a bit of support over the next week or so really, to get over the horrible bit. I know i'll be fine once the chemical is out of my system, the withdrawal's a bitch though :(

I came off these without any withdrawal as such. Are you sure it isn't the return of the underlying anxiety/depression? I moved onto fluroxetine (prozac) when ttc and have been on them for both pregnancies, if you do need something?

Yeah, I'm sure. Thanks for replying though. I can see that I'm being irrational, I'm more tired than usual and I'm getting better at my job which means if anything its anxiety. I'm prob just worrying about coming off them. Prozac doesn't do much for me, and prefer not to take anything while ttc :-)

Hi Jareth

I'm a bit confused with your withdrawal. Are you doing alternate days with the same dose? If you are the withdrawal will be very noticeable and not the best way of doing it as the levels of the chemical will be up and down. Whereas lowering the dose over a period of time is more of a balanced way of doing it, with less withdrawal symptoms.

There are ad's you can go on whilst pregnant, check with your GP.

I agree that prozac is fairly rubbish. I am on minimum dose (33 weeks with dc2) and it does just enough to take the edge off, but the anxiety is still creeping away in there iykwim?

Have you tried CBT? I think I may try another course to see if it'll help.
