Have just rang up to make an appointment at the hairdressers and have completely forgotten the name of the lady who does my hair.

I felt silly forgetting so have made an appointment with someone else there whose name I did remember.

The thing is this lady has done my hair every couple of months for 9 years and I still can't remember what her name is. I have still flicked through a baby name book to see if the name will come to me but I'm just not sure. This has just freaked me out a bit........

When I get stuck with someone's name I try picturing their face and going slowly through the alphabet to see if it'll spring back to mind.

Why don't you ring them back and ask? I find I have a real blind spot for remembering my hairdresser's name and also that of my doctor and dentist. i usually just end up describing them on the phone.

It'll make you feel better once you know.

You could always pretend to be someone else when you ring Smile

Thanks for posting. I think I will have to ring back otherwise it's going to drive me crazy.

It just feels strange not remembering her name yet I could remember the name of the girl who has done my hair only a couple of times........

Loumacca - do you honestly think this is something for a mental health thread. Sorry but I felt annoyed at your post, when there are people on here who can barely put one foot in front of the other and are coping with a variety of severe and dreadful mental illnesses. I clicked on because of your mention of feeling alarmed. This usually means that people are afraid to get out of bed or move from the sofa to the kitchen, or afraid of the phone ringing, not that they've forgotten the name of their bloody hairdresser!

Sincere apologies Nina and to anyone else I've offended I didn't want to post it in chat, will ask for it to be moved.
