A long history between myself and current bf. On and off relationship for ten years. Now we are bothout of our marriages and able to be with each other. We chatted for a long time over xmas about getting together etc. We live seperatly and both have one child. We started to date slowly, it was all lovely, had 2 weekends away he was the perfect date. Then 2 weeks ago he decided to ask for voluntary redundancy in work. This has stressed him about as he didn't instantly get the answer he wanted. Since then he has completely withdrawn fro me. I have txt him asking how he is how is work, just got back a few words now and again. He is a stressful person and has done this before but then always bounces back. However i haven't heard from him since thursday afternoon. I have txt but nothing. Should he be seeing his GP or is it just over between us. I am so worried about him. When he split from his wife, he was also the same isolated himself, angry abusive txt messages etc then ok.

Hard to say from your post what is going on. He may simply know that he is bad company when he is like this and not want you to see him like this. It takes a lot more than not being in touch for two days before you talk about mental illness...

Yes what MM says - I can't believe you are trying to hang a mental illness tag around a man's neck because he hasn't contacted you for a few days! Jesus! get a life please!

Surely you know him well enough after 10 years to know whether he is a selfish person or not ?
Whatever is going on in his life - he is showing no respect for you ignoring your messages.
The least he could do is to reply even if its to say he needs some alone time just now.

Perhaps you should be thinking about what behaviour you will or will not accept from a bf - and not just be there ready and waiting for when he decides to 'come round'
