Is it normal to worry about all sorts of things?

Just wondered is it normal to have worries about things that you can't control? My main ones are I always seem to have a nagging sense of worry about climate change, and also people in developing countries (I also have guilty feelings about how much I have compared to them) Ds is 2 and I have a worry about him being bullied at school in the future and him harming himself because of it Sad Iknow it sounds stupid, but just wondered if everyone feels like this, or is it unusual? Thanks would appreciate any opinions.

Sounds liek anxiety to me. Its worth a trip to your GP if these thoughts are intrusive, and it sounds like they are. I'm having CBT atm for anxiety and it's really helping

I would say, to a certain degree, it IS normal to worry about things. Watching the news and documentaries about climate change is hugely worrying for everyone. Having thoughts of your son being bullied (albeit in the future) is a possibility. BUT these are the types of worry that we do not have any control over.

Worries about things happening in your life right now is also normal, but hopefully there will be decisions to make, and therefore a level of control.

I am also a worrier! But I never watch the news, never read/watch anything about climate change, and if I start worrying about things I can do nothing about then I switch my thinking to the "here and now" for me. If that makes sense?

Also if ds goes out with his grandma, I usually have thoughts about something terrible happening to him eg being hit by a car, it's not bad enough to stop me letting him go out with her, but I always think about it. Is that something most people do?

Sorry also should have said thanks for your replies BooBooGlass and midnightblues, I don't know if it's as serious as anxiety, glad you are getting some help btw, and I never watch the news now, just not got time, but yes I did used to get more upset than other people seemed to about things on it. I will try to consciously think about the here and now and see if that does help, thanks.
