just looking some advice, up to about 3 weeks ago i was pregnant looking forward to my wee bundle being here at xmas, i lost the baby at 18 weeks.

the miscarriage thread has been great, helped get me through hard times, i have been having problems sleeping so i spoke to doctor and they prescribed diazepam for 5 days , i asked for a low dose if something to help me sleep but somehow i dont think after 5 days i will be perfect again.

i am very stressed at the minute anxious and today have got my babies ashes back very sad am hoping the longer i stay up the easier it may be.

is there something else i should ask for after 5 days if i feel the same.

thanks for reading

Oh no Sad - such an awful loss...

The problem with diazepam is that it is very addictive but there may be other things you can be prescribed if you need it. This is the time to need and to accept support so yes do go back to the doctor.

Have you been in touch with SANDS?

I'm so sorry to hear that wonderif, but I'm glad to hear that you are getting support.
Diazepam is quite a strong drug. I have had quite bad insomnia and am using over the counter anti histamines to help me sleep. They are much milder and not addictive but seem to work quite well for me. They also provide mild sedation (so I don't wake up feeling anxious). You could always give them a try. The brands that work best for me are nytol (but not the herbal kind!) and sominex.
They are far preferable to prescription sleeping pills, I believe.
I hope you continue to improve.
