Sertraline side effects

I started taking Sertraline on Thursday last week for PND.

Today I can barely keep my eyes open - am flat out on the sofa dreading DS waking up for his next feed (even more than I normally do). I feel completely spaced out and a bit panicky.

Is this a normal side effect or just another crap part of the PND?

It could be both but i was warned that it can make you really sleepy. My GP told me to take it at night.

Is this how it works - makes you so tired that you haven't got the energy to be depressed?

Right now I feel worse than I did before I started taking it.

I didn't have a very good experience with Sertraline tbh but it can take some time to adjust to ADs properly.

I had the opposite problem with sertraline-it kept me awake (pacing back and forth) if I took it on a night. I think AD's can affect everyone differently (although the side effects should wear off after a while, if it is the sertraline.)

I was hell on sertraline (sorry) - there are threads from January with me talking about it (diff but regular name).

I kept having panic attacks :( Keep on with them for a while, but if it doesn't ease up, then go back to your Dr, I managed a couple of days, then cut down to half a pill, but was still having panics so gave up.

Ended up on fluoxetine which isn't ideal breastfeeding but still on the safe list iyswim

I recently started sertraline for anxiety. Initially I felt worse, but I stuck with it and now 2 months later I feel fantastic, anxiety mostly disapeared and got a real feel good, content feeling. I did feel sleepy and a bit sick, but i don't anymore.

Took about 6 weeks to settle on them. Past experience has taught me to go with it, and it can be normal to feel worse before you feel better.
