Just thought I should let you all know, I've finally managed it after two years of taking between 150mg and 350mg per night, every night.

Withdrawal symptoms, migraine, nausea and vomitting for around 3 days, then fine.

I feel like a new woman, I didn't realise how 'sedated' I was, I have my sex drive back and I feel alive again!

Looking forward to having lots of fun with dd (and dh - snurk) now that I finally have some energy.

Last time I posted about this I failed fucking miserably to give it up, so I just wanted to let you all know that I finally made it!

Nemofish I remember you - you were on our 'oooh can't sleep' thread for a while! Well done you!!!!! That's great news

Nemo you know I kept thinking about this - what happened with the dyphen stuff. So pleased to hear this

arcadia96 · 19/07/2010 09:34

That's brilliant nemofish. Well done!!!! .
I still take it every night but the normal dosage. If I try and go without I don't sleep as well. But I'm grateful for your previous posts as it stops me from being tempted to take any more.
I wonder how meloncauli (sp?) got on with trying to come off? (They posted on your previous thread - same situation as me I think).

Well done nemo that's great to hear!

I'm coming off my medication too, and am weaning myself off very slowly. So glad to hear you did it!

Absolutley arcadia96, at higher dosages you retain urine (so lots of running to the loo and then unable to go very much) hallucinate (that was weird until I worked out what was going on!), and I found I suffered much more from vertigo and headaches at higher dosages too, although diphenhydramine is actually used to treat vertigo. So higher dosages are not good - I never suffered from withdrawal symptoms either until I was taking more.

Good on you GetDown. Was it nitrazepam?
