Coming off the mini pill and trying to conceive

Hi,

im wondering if anyone is in the same situation / has experienced the same / can offer some advice.

im literally driving myself insane.

I came off the mini pill (cerezette) 3 weeks ago, I haven’t had a withdrawal bleed or a period as of yet. I do keep getting cramps. Today I have had waves of nausea, cramps, occasional boob twinges.

myself and my husband are wanting to conceive, and I feel like I’m losing the plot. I know it’s only been 3 weeks but is there any reason I may not have had a withdrawal / bleed yet? The doctors won’t do anything until it’s been 3 months without a period.

I have bought ovulation tests and plan on testing regularly (can you even conceive without a period after coming off the pill??)

does anyone have any advice? Thank you in advance

@GSDmomma Hi Lovely - how are you getting on? Just seen this thread and can totally relate…. I came off the mini pill just over 6 weeks ago and am yet to have any bleeding, no withdrawal and no AF. I am driving my self mad wondering what is wrong with me, Googling everything I can think of and convincing myself I may have PCOS and may struggle to conceive! 😣 I was on the implant for 10 years and the mini pill for 1 year… Worried that being on contraception for that long has totally screwed my system. It’s such a horrible process and keep kicking myself for not coming off the pill before I was ready to start TTC. I also kept hoping it was because I was already pregnant, but a million tests later have confirmed a million BFN’s. Hoping you have some light at the end of the tunnel?! Let me know how you are getting on x

This week is 10 weeks off the pill and still nothing, and I’m not ovulating anymore (did the first month off).
Im feeling exactly the same way, I feel every day I’m driving myself more and more crazy about it worrying about why and what’s wrong with me.
I have doctors appointment arranged for 21st so if it doesn’t appear naturally by then I will keep this post updated :)

@MilkyAndFluffy Hey! I’ve also been following this thread, AF finally arrived for me after 5 weeks. I did the exact same, tested & tested thinking maybe I was already pregnant! I had also been on contraception for 10 years straight. Try not to overthink it, AF will arrive for you! All the best!

@GSDmomma defo nice to know we aren’t alone in this. So you ovulated the month you came off the pill but nothing since, have you been doing daily ovulation tests? It’s mega frustrating - chances are there is absolutely nothing wrong and it’s just the pill coming out of your system but I can’t take that advice myself, all I do is panic! Please keep us updated on how you get on, I have everything crossed you get your period soon 🤞🏼

@Needausername19 thanks for sharing your experience - glad your period has come! Can I be super cheeky and ask what your cycle is like now? Did you fall back into a normal cycle? All the best to you lovely sending baby dust your way x

@MilkyAndFluffy It’s not cheeky at all, we’re all in this together. So I’ve only been off the pill since middle of September so my AF started 24th October and I’m now on cycle day 11. I had a peak ovulation with the clear blue digital ovulation but I didn’t find it very helpful (that was the cycle I came off the pill). So I’ve bought the Premom ovulation strips off Amazon as they show the lines getting darker. I’m hoping I’m in a normal cycle but I’m trying to not read into signs and symptoms too much because you can find yourself testing daily and it becomes really disheartening seeing the constant negative pregnancy tests! Sending baby dust to you and hopefully you’re either pregnant already or AF turns up soon so you know where you’re at! X

I came off the mini pill this week, on the 1st November. Just waiting for a bleed. Last time TTC DC1 I was on the combined pill so had a withdrawal bleed straight away. Not really sure what to expect so nice to find others in the same boat

I feel like I have written this myself. I was on mini pill desogestrel stopped13th September . Which is nearly 8 weeks ago. I've had no withdrawal bleed or no sign of af at all. We've dtd unprotected many of times and I've done x amount of pregnancy tests and all bfn. I'm so worried something us wrong with me. I'm going out mind. Feel like it's a waiting game for a bfp or even af to turn up so I can track ovulation. Your not alone :) xx

Hi, just for update I’m on week 11 now and still nothing. Part of me has just given up now and I’m just waiting for my doctors appt in a few weeks time. Hope you’re all doing well, any period signs?

I had some bleeding yesterday but it was just the slightest amount when I wiped. It really felt like I was starting AF but then it just stopped. Nothing today but cramps. Not really sure what's going on!

@Esteemed what was your bleed like? I'm currently in the same situation 🤔😁

It was very light but lasted maybe about 10 days.

Thank you, mine was medium flow for the first day, light red with pink aswell and then the 2 days after were light and mainly pink and brown with red tinges. That last day was mainly brown when I wiped...
