There's no 'taking turns' in this.
Neither of younhas yet had a turn at being sterilised. you jay or may not have been taking turns at reversible contraception. It is not biologically possible to take turns at childbirth, and just plain wrong to suggest that a different procedure for a different purpose should be linked to it.
It's 1:10 for the major, enduring complications (see NHS Choices page)
There will be others who have lesser side effects (curable, under 3 months duration). And others for whom it is just fine.
What helps is wearing two pairs of tight trunk-style pants in the aftermath, and taking the advice tomrest for a good 48 hours afterwards seriously. Including not driving (ok, lots of people breach that one when the anaesthetic is still in their system, but it's a bad idea, especially as it wears off). No small DC on lap, no heavy physical activity. Get in a good stock of OTC painkillers, and consider a pack of perineal peas.
Any sign of redness, discharge or heat, go straight to a doctor - he may need ABs.
And do not abandon other contraception until a proper all clear - requires both time elapsed and number of ejaculations. This takes a few months (most men clear in the 12-16 week timeframe, some are unlucky and it can take over a year, but by that stage they may be adbpvising a repeat procedure)
