Just wondering i dont know what to do regarding contraception. At moment im having a break from been on anything i was taking cerezette up until August but i got pregnant on it for the 2nd time unfortunately i miscarried and since we have just been using condoms, pulling out and a couple of times been carried away and taken a chance and takn the morning after pill both times, obviously cant carry on like this so not sure whats best. Ive been on various things over the years but always reacted badly to them (eg mass weight gain, head aches, high blood pressure, erratic periods, moodswings) I have found cerezette best for symptoms but obviously pregnant twice is not good so not sure really.
The only 1 im against trying is the coil just dont like the thought of having it and heard too mant bad stories

I have four kids and, now they are older, I am very, very glad we stopped at four. I love them dearly but they are very expensive. Grin both financially and emotionally

The thing I like about sterilisation over men having the snip is that it works immediately.

We used withdrawal for about 5 years with no problems. I then went on Cerazette to try and calm my periods and was pg unplanned within 5 months!!! Hmm Sadly it was ectopic and I MC. Now I'm PG planned again and am going to convince dp to get a vasectomy once she is born.

It's over 11 months since DH was snipped and he has still not had the all clear.

I have had the copper coil for around 2.5yrs now. No problem with having it fitted just after 6wk check, really light periods which I don't even take pain relief for (used to have horrific period pain) and I love the fact that its hormone free. For every horror story there will be someone completely satisfied with their choice of contraception. Hope you find something that works.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss- i fell pregnant twice on cerezette was taking it correctly and everything. It was the only 1 which didnt give me symptoms so obviously not a very strong method

I had a copper coil inserted by a lovely gynae at a specialist clinic - my GP referred me. No pain and no problems except the first couple of periods being heavy. Perfect for me as I don't get along with hormones.

We use condoms at the minute (although we very rarely have sex as DH hates them)

Before DS we used withdrawal (but neither of us would have been bothered if i'd fallen pg) successfully for 3 years.

It would be awful if i fell pg now because meds I'm on would mean the foetus wouldn't form correctly. I haven't totally accepted DS being an only although it would be a bad idea for health reasons so don't want a permanent contraceptive.

I can't take the pill and, although i really don't want the coil i am considering it to try to save my sex life :-(
