Who takes your dc <particularly dds> to their activities?

It has occured to me that this is the one part of parenting where inequality seems to be accepted.

I take dd to her dance classes. If I am working that night DH will collect her. But it is a chore. He rarely sits through any of her classes and when he has to go to rehearsals for plays he makes a big song and dance about having to give up his time, when I was the one who started her dancing. He does go to them though, when I am working.

I have arranged for horse riding on a Sunday because he is off work every Sunday so if I am working there will still be someone to take her.

He was not happy about having to 'give up his sunday afternoon'

At our ballet school, parents are not allowed to sit in on the classes. I think this is an excellent arrangement. Fortunately, we live just across the road, so whoever has taken one of the dc's can then nip home for a cuppa or do the shopping at the shop down the road. More often me taking them as I get home earlier. But more often dh who sews on the ballet shoe bits and gets their gear together. And for shows he has to take them as I can't drive.

I am a music teacher and I see waaaaaaay more dads than mum. It's always the mums who have written and signed the cheque though

I take ds to cello and swimming, and I'll pick him up from Soccer practise next term - but that's just like picking up from school an hour later. I am expecting dh to go to all the actual games.
