hi there.

i think ds would rather put his own eyes out than do art club/arty party. i once asked him what the most boring thing in the world was* and he said "colouring".

i agree with you, two or three things sounds about right.

playdates nooooo!

    • dinner time, much whining from assorted children (we were on holiday with another family).

bk WHAT IS THE MOST BORING THING IN THE WORLD?

NB - this is a rhetorical question, i am expecting silence so i can say WHINING

but a small voice pipes up "colouring?"

mine does 'running around madly with a big stick/building dens and climbing trees' every day.except the weekend when he does advanced visiting and shopping and gardening .

bossykate · 04/07/2008 09:13

LOL! that what mine does atm, with a few museums and stately homes thrown in

oh yes national trust properties. how did i forget them? oh and camping too!

ds actually decined band practice, and sports club this term because it would interfere with the above den buiding thing.

madness · 04/07/2008 09:22

swimming but not keen), guitar, football, playing with sticks/climbing trees, he would love to do lot more but i'm working pt.
Unfortunately never seems to be exhausted. Still awake at 9pm

Wow, was starting to feel highly inadequate as a parent reading this then I realised you were talking about Year Three at school boys, not 3 year old boys! Was starting to think my three year old should be doing rugby, tennis, guitar, Spansh, etc. etc. Phew!

FairyMum · 05/07/2008 23:18

OMG just read whole thread thinking this was about a 3 year-old and feeling a bit
LOL

Ds1 is going into yr 3 in Sept and he does

3 lots of football coaching a week
Spanish
Beavers (he is on camp this weekend with dh and having a ball!)
Swimming

He is starting violin in Sept.

He likes all of htem really but football is his favourite and if he could, he would spend the whole of his life outside in the garden kicking a football about.

seeker · 05/07/2008 23:22

Trampolining
Football
Beavers
Started tennis today. I blame Roger Federer.

Gobbledigook · 05/07/2008 23:22

Football - one is in school, the other two are out of school

Violin will be in school.

Beavers, Spanish (since he was 3) and Swimming (since age 3) are out of school.

It's a lot really isn't it? But he has boundless energy and is happy with it.

Katisha · 05/07/2008 23:26

Piano, cello, football, cricket.
Piano is before school, cello is at school and football is Saturdays. Cricket is at 6.30 on a Monday evening but I am home by 6 to take him.
Can't really do straight after school activities because I work full time and so he goes to the childminders. However that is a kind of activity in itself as he plays with the other children.

Quattrocento · 05/07/2008 23:26

Piano
Choir
Tennis (not in school)
Football (not in school)

Flibbertyjibbet · 05/07/2008 23:28

What activities does my 3 year old do. Hmmm.

Sitting on his little brother
Pushing his brother
Taking things of his brother
Splashing his brother when swimming
Poking his brother with sticks when at the park

Activites we have to pay for however, like martial arts or swimming, we are waiting till ds 2 is 3 next May then will send them together. At least that way ds2 will have half a chance of sticking up for himself when ds1 practising his kung-fu-ey moves

minniedot · 06/07/2008 20:14

Cubs, drumming lesson and drama. Did swimming but has finished lessons now.

I think 2/3 things a week are enough, what with my older ds doing things too, I'm forever driving around in the eveings.

taokiddy · 06/07/2008 20:18

Beavers, Swimming, Guitar out of school (if you have kids close enough you can take two to same stuff). Football and ICT after school clubs (£2 for an hours extra childcare!)
