My soon to be year 3 boy does football, tennis, spanish and will start music lessons next year. Oh and swimming, but only in the holidays (week long courses).

TheFallenMadonna · 29/06/2008 19:29

Oh, and Beavers.

Blimey.

That's a lot...

bossykate · 29/06/2008 19:30

yes that is quite a lot

His favourites are Beavers and tennis BTW.

lljkk · 29/06/2008 19:41

Swimming lessons (erratically), nothing else regular. I am always amazed by children who can consistently do anything out of school; mine are totally exhausted by school.

bossykate · 29/06/2008 20:15

thank you

mousebear · 29/06/2008 21:14

Any body know of any kind of sports and venues that are available on Saturdays for working mum who desparately wants to take her child herself, in the Bromley/Beckenham area:]

Love2bake · 29/06/2008 21:42

Mine does swimming and an after-school club (within school).

mousebear, i hear you! we have exactly the same issue and the reason i'm investigating this now is because it will have some bearing on the childcare we choose when i go back to work. our previous arrangement didn't allow for any activities not offered at the school.

good luck

any more?

OP posts:
Marina · 30/06/2008 20:41

Beavers
Tennis (local council scheme)
Mousebear, if you can get over to LB Greenwich they offer tennis on a Sat morning and it is an excellent scheme
Also Charlton Junior Football Challenge (an activity not troubled by ds however)

bossykate · 30/06/2008 20:46

hi marina. thanks for that. doesn't he do minimus?

OP posts:
bossykate · 30/06/2008 20:47

btw, in case it's not clear, i am interested in activities done within school as well as out of school.

thanks again

Ds's are all (!) in school, except Beavers and holiday crash course swimming.

Marina · 30/06/2008 20:53

He does but that started in Year 4 .
We do have a Yr3 child but even though he is as bright as a button, my high level scholarship is a bit much for him at 4pm on a Friday
I like to think Minimus/Latin integrated into the timetable from Year 3 would be accessible to many children but I think you either have to be at uber-smart prep school or at a Tower Hamlets state primary for this

bossykate · 30/06/2008 21:00

ah! i had assumed it started in year 3 but what do i know!

OP posts:
ProfessorGrammaticus · 30/06/2008 22:24

Oh! In school - judo, art club, choir.
