How old are you?! That will tell you what a good time is. I think your times are entirely fair for someone who runs for fun.

I would do a 10k in about 50 minutes if all was going well. That would put me (age 43) about three quarters of the way down a field which I am happy with. Aiming for a half in less than two hours later this year - I did 2h 2 mins last year.

There are tables showing where you are in relation to the world champion for your age. Maybe someone will come along and give us a link?

7.5 miles in 57 minutes is a good time. Equivalent to 12k which would imply 10k in just under 50 minutes. It's also definitely an improvement on your recent 5k time.

Am currently training for a half marathon and ran 8 miles today in 1.04 so you're probably about where I am in terms of speed.

In terms of a target for 10k, 45 minutes is a good target to aim for I think - it's what I aim for (am 37 but in reasonably good shape) and what the middle range of the field will come in at.

Anything under 40 minutes is pretty impressive I think, unless you're running 10k's competitively fairly regularly. It implies a 15kph pace which, if you try on a (sprung, flat) treadmill, is very hard for me to maintain for longer than 15 - 20 mintues

In terms of the half marathon, I'm definitely hoping for under 2 hours, targeting about 1.50 and hoping for 1.45 if the training goes well and I run well on the day.
