Ski-wear : can it be re-proofed?

I have (stupidly) bought some Boden ski stuff for my dd from e-bay. The jacket has obviously been washed too hot / tumble-dried, against instructions - the cloth just feels like soft cotton now. Can it be re-waterproofed, does anyone know?

Aha! I need to consider whether fleece is a 'wicking liner' but looks promising. Thanks!

You can get a spray which you then put into the tumble.
Re proofs everything. I have used it loads. Nixwax I think.

I really need to check the links provided before I post!!!

I think it might be...I was looking this up the other day before washing a jacket. I'll see if I can find the nice helpful piece I found then

Ah, it was this bit:

"2 layer jackets are fine (ie there is no material bonded to the inside of teh waterproof laminate) 3-layer goretex ones have a wicking layer bonded to the inside. If you used a wash-in re-proofer like TX Direct you would make that wicking layer water repellent - and so it would not take the vapour to the goretex as efficiently. Effectively your jacket will become waterproof in both directions!"

HTH

Indeedy! Nikwax looking more promising by the minute! Many thanks, all.
