Does anyone know anything about Yoga? especially on the wii fit?

My new year's resolution was to tone up my doing yoga. It is impractical to get to a class so I thought I would do half an hour on the wii fit, 3 times a week. However, I am finding half an hour too long and boring. Would 10 minutes every day be just as good/ better? or is it not really wrth doing anyway. Any help would be good. TIA

I don't know about yoga specifically - but I do try and use the Wii Fit as much as possible - I would say that a little every day is a good place to be...better than doing nothing What about doing some of the other activities in your session - tbh, 30 mins of yoga does sound pretty dull! The hula hooping and boxing both seem good ways to tone up too, and it would make your time on the Wii a bit more interesting!

Have you got the Wii Fit or the newer Wii Fit Plus? The plus has more activities on it, and it tailored routines to help you target the areas you want to work on.

just as good from what point of view? What are you hoping to achieve?

Thanks for the relplies. am reasonably fit. but just want to be a bit more flexible and 'streamlined'
I do other exercise as well so like the idea of yoga as the whole calming and stratching thing and am hoping just to be more toned. i have the old wii fit not the plus

Ten minutes a day is better than none, and its actually a good way to start (eg 10 mins a day little and often building up awareness of body, movement and posture would be better than an hour a week I think).

Haven't tried the WII but reckon you will get bored and give up unless you find a good teacher. If you can't get to a classes every week then lots of teachers do special one-off day long or weekend workshops. Most also do home visits. Without a teacher you won't be able to make much progress because you can't really see yourself objectively, iyswim. Where abouts are you?

Good luck either way, i wouldn't be without my stretching

I do a lot of yogsa on the wii, however I went to classes for a couple of years before so I already knew the basicxs, love how it shows your centre of balance etc. I am trying to do an hour a day on the wii at the moment but I have to vary which bits or I get bored.

I find I have to vary the activities quite a bit. 10 mins is still far preferable than 10 mins on couch with though.
I don't think the wii yoga would have as many 'mind' benefits as a proper yoga class though - I tend to focus on the yellow spot rather than how my body feels but maybe that's just me.
