Hi,

Have just signed up for Southampton and was wondering if anyone else was taking part?

Not run since at school and 40 in May so could be a challenge

I did the one at Silverstone last year with my mum - 60 - and my daughter - 14. We had a fab time . to be honest most ladies walked it or jogged it! There was a wonderful atmosphere and it was quite an emotional experience. good luck x

Me

I did it for the first time last year and am doing it again this year, and have roped in loads of other women too!

It's good fun, very emotional but worthwhile.

MaggsS · 04/03/2009 06:44

When I say run, I think I may be lucky to break into a jog

Dad has cancer and had other family members died of cancer so doing it for them really.

I've just signed up for one in Kendal. Dad has just recovered from cancer so doing it to show my support really.

Did anyone get the free watch???

Whizzz · 24/04/2009 10:08

I'm thinking of signing up in memory of my dad who died recently. Quick question though - is it better to do it with someone rather than by yourself (I know there are thousands of others there too, but you know what I mean). I expect it to be rather emotional & wouldn't like to be blubbing alone!

racmac · 24/04/2009 10:35

Ive signed up to do the one in Wolverhampton - hoping to run it in less tahn 30 mins - do you think thats a bit optomistic?

Sorry - Whizz - no idea as ive never done it before but sorry about your dad

nameofchange · 24/04/2009 10:37

My dd is handing out the goody bags at the end with Guides.

Lancelottie · 24/04/2009 10:52

My six-yr-old is doing it in memory of her grandad (my FIL), so I'll be panting alongside with the choccy buttons and pompoms, and probably doing my share of the welling up, yes..

Suspect it will take, ahem, rather more than 30 minutes. (She is not a fit child, but she's a very determined one!)
