My ds went ice skating for the first time when he was 5 and loved it - he is very physically capable, and I'm sure he would have been fine younger. You can get toddler skates that have two paralllel blades on each boot.

alexandra palace.....have fond memories skating there!!

generally,if they can roller skate, then they can ice skate.....

It is hard work unless they can balance and propel themselves so I'd say an active 4/5yr is probably ok. I have done younger but only where they have something to push along and they don't last long .

We took DD to an outdoor rink last Christmas at 3.9, and it was an experience! I think she found it interesting, but it was very very hard work. She couldn't balance at all on single blades, and just scraped along on the twin blades. We're going to try again this year!

Thank you all!
i think we'll try...can I get the twin blades in my size do you think??

If your children know how to roller blade then they will find skating easier. Just make sure they wear a helmet. All the kids here skate from aged 4 with the club.
