When do you fit exercise in with primary school children?

When does everyone exercise when you have younger children? My 2 are both at primary school, I used to do a workout or go on the treadmill when they went to bed, but now they are going a bit later it's gone 9 before I get started and it's too late then, youngest is up at 6am.

A lot depends on the demands on your time. I get up early to get to work for 7am to leave early for pick ups so don’t want to get up any earlier. In my peak fitness days pre dc I hated jogging/running so not doing that & I try to get to bed by 10:30pm so won’t be doing much more than a walk at 9pm.

I try & walk a lot to get a minimum of 8000 steps (sedentary office job that I drive to). On my day off & weekends I try & do yoga/weights/pilates & get more steps in because I have more time.
DH goes swimming twice & week when he wfhs & gets his steps in on office days.
I also have a walking pad & am walking on it now as 1 dc is feeling under the weather.

If you have a parent who works a way a lot, their salary should be high enough to help out the person who is solo parenting - be that through part time work only or paying for holiday clubs - so that the solo parents gets a break.
if they don’t earn a high salary, then the job isn’t worth it and they should get a job which means they can parent some times.

@arethereanyleftatalloften that high salary is eaten up by a mortgage or school fees. Or the job that doesn’t pay much whilst your dc are young comes good as they get older.
There are plenty of jobs that involve working away or unsociable hours that don’t pay ££££, I’m glad people do them though.
