Anyone rebounding?

I had a rebounder in the 80’s. They seem to be around again & I was thinking of getting one.
I practice yoga regularly but need to add a bit of cardio now. Time poor etc.

I like the “good on joints” aspect esp knees & ankles.

anyone using a rebounder regularly and how are you finding it?

Sorry you’ve not received any responses yet.

i began using a rebounder in my mid sixties.

I used to regularly jog, but found that rebounding was better on my joints, was safer as I could use it in my own home or garden.

Time wise, I could fit in a session when it was convenient to do so.

i started with ten minutes and gradually got to twenty minutes.

Then I read that every minute you added on to the basic twenty minutes, had the benefits of continuing to drain your lymphatic system beyond the time you actually stopped rebounding.

My ideal session time is roughly forty minutes.

I have to make sure I wear a sport bra, as I hate feeling the discomfort of my breasts not being held in place.

I generally do it either whilst watching a “light” tv prog’, but prefer to do it to uplifting music.

i believe there are YouTube sessions you can follow along to, if that’s preferable.

you can get rebounders with or without a “steadying” handle.

I would also recommend that you also make sure you use one that can accommodate the weight of whoever is the heaviest in your household, and ensure it has six legs.

you can buy rebounders that have foldaway legs, which then makes it much easier to tuck behind the sofa (for instance) when not in use.

Personally I think they are a brilliant form of exercise that can benefit the whole body.

Ive also (separately) started lifting small weights.
Over time, my arms have gained so much strength, and my confidence has increased too.

i hope you love it if you decide to purchase.

Yes, they’re popular again. People like them for quick, low-impact cardio that’s easy on knees and ankles. Great for home use when you’re short on time, but it can feel repetitive if you stick to the same routine every day.

Thank you both for your replies - sorry I wandered off, got distracted & forgot I had posted this.

I WFH and like the idea of a 5 minute bounce every hour to get me out of my desk. I do other exercise too, but I do like the sound of the lymphatic drainage benefits.

I am reasonably fit & strong now and after losing a lot of weight and doing a lot of yoga, my joints are better than they have ever been but I am still very cautious about knees/ankles & rebounding appeals. I'm strong but need a bit of cardio in my day.

Rebounders do seem to be back in vogue.

My old rebounder had springs, and I see some these days use bunjee cords.

I ordered mine yesterday! Coming today. I regularly run and do weights but suffer terrible water retention so hoping it may help with lymph drainage

RobinEllacotStrike · 07/05/2026 16:38

ooh exciting - did you get one with springs or bungees?
