Will two weekly gym classes plus Zumba make a noticeable difference? I want to see a difference in strength/toning, not major weight loss. (Title edited by MNHQ at request of OP)

I am reasonably fit, I walk every day and do zumba weekly.
I am not overweight but carry my weight on my belly.
I have just started doing some weight classes at the gym... body conditioning/pump and circuits. Finding them hard but quite fun!
My question is, will I see a difference doing 2 classes a week plus my zumba?

It's probably going to depend on your diet too. It will make a very slow, gradual difference.

For me I only see results if i am ALSO monitoring my diet alongside increased activity. If I did 2x gym classes plus a zumba Id also be observing calorie intake to see results

A difference to your weight? Not on their own, you need to be eating in a calorie deficit also, and get plenty of movement in during the day too.

Thank you. I should have said notice a difference in my strength, tone. I eat well, and only need to lose a few lbs, not much

‘Toning’ basically means building muscles, and then having a lower enough body fat percentage to reveal the muscles.

If your excess weight is concentrated on your stomach you might notice a difference mostly in your arms and legs. You can’t target fat loss from one area (stomach), and you’ll need to lift increasingly heavy weights to build muscle.

All that said, 2.5-3 hours of exercise a week will obviously make a difference to your general health.

Diet is the main thing in losing weight.

You can't "spot reduce."

Pump class is aerobic, rather than strength based. If you want to get strong you need to be lifting weights, and progressively overloading your muscles. THey respond to the stress of overload by growing.
