Peloton or Yesoul exercise bike ?

I'm looking at getting an exercise bike and I'm torn between Peleton and Yesoul.

I would buy a used Peleton as lots for sale around £500 or I could get a new Yesoul bike for the same price.

Pros for the Yesoul is I'm not tied to any subscription and can stream from my phone/tablet. With Peleton I would have to subscribe at £45 per month.

My SM has been flooded recently with Yesoul but not convinced as yet. I've seen there are shipping issues but apart from that it looks like a good bike. Any thoughts?

The problem for me with both these are that they do not replicate a real bike. Too upright, saddle too wide.

If you want a real bike feel I would go for a wahoo kickr core attached to a real bike. A peleton is certainly not worth £45 a month! That's a huge amount.I've just signed up to zwift at £17.99 a month and I thought that was a lot.

I love my Peloton bike, instructors are great and so many classes. I use the app when walking or running & also when using my Concept 2 rower. Happy to definitely recommend Peloton (but never heard of Yesoul).

Same. I do the weights classes, yoga, bike classes and I love the variety

I’d forgotten about all the strength classes too! So good!

Thanks all. I'm not an outdoor cyclist so really just want something for cardio. I guess I'm just trying to figure out if I should buy a cheaper spin bike so I'm not tied to Peleton. Then again, I've read so many positive reviews of them I'm thinking that a second hand bike and the membership may be worth it. Has anyone got a different bike alongside the Peleton app?

I spent a lot of time researching bikes and ended up buying a Nordic Track S24 studio bike that I'm thrilled with. The Ifit classes are great and it's £35 a month, and I'm doing a combination of studio classes and trail rides - both equally as good. There is enough though to use the bike with ease without their software. I was mostly put off Peleton by the Trustpilot reviews. Think mine was £1500 and I bought from John Lewis. I will however say it was an absolute bitch to assemble (the monitor wires were horrific to get through the bike and out again) - something to look at for whatever you get!

I have an ex gym bike which I use with the Peloton app. I love the variety and use lots of the strength, yoga etc classes too. I'm not bothered about the leaderboards.

I bought a 2nd hand TechnoGym spin bike - old style so no monitors for speed, cadence, power etc but well built and sturdy.
I use it with the Peloton app which I cast from my phone or tablet to a tv. I guesstimate the power level - as long as it's getting my heart rate up then I'm getting the cardio in! Cadence is generally to the beat of the music and you can just match the instructors leg speed.
There are so many different spin classes of varying length so whether you've got 5 minutes, 30 minutes or longer just pick and hit play. Lots of different instructors to choose from and lots of different types of rides you won't get bored. I also use the app on the treadmill, for strength classes, stretching, meditation and more.
Maybe see if you can pick up a 2nd hand bike on Facebook marketplace or ebay and if you really get into it and workout regularly you can then think about upgrading.
