Which Garmin should I get?

Not a runner, just trying to generally improve my level of fitness and keep active so I guess I need a fitness tracker that also happens to be a watch. I can spend up to £300.
Been looking at the Vivoactive and Venu range, are they worth it and what are the differences?
Other brands suggestions also welcome (except apple watch as I had it and hated the short battery life and fitbits as I don’t like how they look)

I have the original Venu, the music version. I got it in 2021 and the battery life is still excellent. It does everything I wanted it to, although I never actually use the music facility as I always carry my phone anyway.

I recently bought a second one, the square version in black (my original one is white) just to have a change. It's also the music version and I paid about £30 from vinted. I got it on Wednesday, so 4 days ago, have been wearing it since and the battery is still on 74%. The vibration is shit though which seems to be an issue with the original sq version (but not the original round face one), I imagine it's better in newer versions.

If I was upgrading I'd probably go for similar but I couldn't justify it for what I use it for.

I’ve had the vivoactive 5 since Christmas and love it. Does everything I need and battery lasts at least a week. I think it was about £160

Thanks! What are the main differences with Venu? Not sure it’s worrh the difference?
I am also considering the one that looks more like a normal fitness tracker although maybe it’s a bit passe?

Coros is cheaper than Garmin at every equivalent spec and battery life and functionality is great, but they are a) strongly geared towards running and cycling training (though with options for at least 30 activities), and b) very functional i.e a bit ugly

I think the Venu looks nicer than the vivoactive, but that’s just personal preference. I had a Venu 2 and then upgraded to a Fenix last year. The Fenix is one of my favourite things I own, I love it.

The jump from the Venu 2 to the Fenix was big in terms of features, but don’t think there is too much between the Venu 4 and Vivoactive 6. I think you can do a comparison on the Garmin website.

Edited to add - the Venu 4 has the flashlight. It’s so handy!
