Pilates - free workouts with increasing difficulty?

Are there any free virtual Pilates programmes which start short (15 minutes) and gentle then build in difficulty and effort? Thinking along the lines of equivalent of Couch to 5k. Trying to rebuild strength, flexibilty and stamina after shoulder injury and think something structured would help. TIA

I used to love Pop Pilates vids on YouTube.

Have a look at the Girl with the Pilates mat. All free, she has a big selection of routines of varying difficulty, you should be able to pick suitable ones by looking at duration and description.

The peloton app might work, I have a code for 60 days free (cancel if you don’t want to pay after 60 days!)
there’s Pilates but also mobility, yoga and stretch. You can sort by difficulty and then filter by time, instructor.. thousands of classes
there’s also a 7 day beginner Pilates programme

I don’t gain anything from sharing the code, I just really enjoy their workouts

I'm a Pilates teacher. The classical pilates system is created in a way that when we follow the order and sequence of exercises as they were meant to be followed - this builds up endurance, strength, mobility ect....

I suggest joining a beginner class in a classical studio ( not a gym!!! but a real pilates studio where they have all of the equipment, not just reformers!) so you can learn and master the basics which will prepare you for the intermediate work. Trying out different sequences everytime is more akin to a fitness routine and ( in pilates terms) that is not how the body learns and progresses.

If you are looking for an app - the best one is called Pilatesology.
Classical sequences to help everyone build up safely and properly.
I would suggest taking some in person lessons first to make sure you understand how to move safely under the supervision of a good teacher.

Pilates is not a regulated industry, so anyone can all anything pilates. Teacher certifications range from weekend courses to comprehensive course which can last 2 years. Choose wisely, this is your body and ensure you move safely.

Hope this helps,

Thank you. I did attend Pilates classes up until the day of my accident. However despite physio saying I can, I am lacking the confidence to go back. Perhaps I should just bite the bullet and go back with adjustments as required. I’ve done a few of the nhs intro Pilates classes without too much trouble.
