I have been thinking of getting one, are they any good? Have you noticed a difference in loosing weight? Toning up? Strength? Etc

They seem gimmicky. If reformer classes aren't an option I think you'd be better spending the money on a decent mat pilates app subscription (or plenty of good options on youtube) and a decent thick mat, small pilates ball, gliders and resistance bands.

I’ve heard they aren’t worth it as you don’t have an instructor leading you in best form. I wouldn’t want to injure myself also they look flimsy

Pilates is neither strength training (as currently understood), nor a mechanism for losing weight.

If you don't do any physical exercise, Pilates is great for general body awareness, particularly around posture and alignment of your spine & skeleton.

But if you're not an experienced mover, then you'd be better to go to a series of Pilates mat classes run by a qualified instructor, who will give you hands-on corrections & adjustments, so you can learn what it feels like to do the exercises correctly.

it’s weight bearing exercise tho and you lose weight from your muscles being more active. I was in the shape of my life doing reformer Pilates twice a week with a great instructor alongside triathlon stuff

alongside triathlon stuff

Ahem, I suspect that's what contributed a lot more to muscle growth and fat loss, than Pilates.
