Exercise in pregnancy and for long term… any advice on how to get into it?! Help.

I’m late 30s and have a 4 year old and a 2 year old. I am 12 weeks pregnant. My husband and I work full time. My husband often gets home after 7pm

i have never found any exercise I enjoy. I’m a normal weight, BMI 21.5. I do not live near a gym or pool (nearest one about 30 minutes away)

i need help finding something to do. Has someone found something that makes exercise enjoyable or easy?! Any online class recommendations? Also, how did you find the time?!

I didn't have time for anything other than long dog walks when mine were under two. They are now two and four, and sleeping well, so I get up around 5am to go for a 5-10 mile run. I used to hate running, but then I got skinny and for the first time in my life it was easy and I didn't have to think about it. It's the best option for me as it requires zero prep or travel time - just trainers on and off I go.

How did you start running? I’m a bit concerned about my pelvic floor…
I should mention, currently kids up around 5.30 and we leave 6.30 for work. Probably would have to be evening

Sounds like anything would be better than nothing, but U shouldn't do anything very new/strenuous when pg.

How do you get to work? Can you park further from workplace or get off the bus earlier to get a 15 minute walk in before work, and do the reverse for home journey?

How do you get to places on days you're minding your kids, can you walk to places within 2 miles instead of using transport?

Do your kids like swimming; if you go as a family, can you resolve to do ten lengths every time you take kids swimming (assuming partner is watching them in those moments), interspersed lengths while helping mind the kids.

You could look at 7 minutes workouts, try to do one every morning before showering.

Stop watching TV or posting on MN & then see how much spare time you have to do 7 minute workouts...

Negotiate with your partner that you each typically get one hour of "me time" on Sat or Sun mornings. He can also run or play COD or whatever in his hour.

You get dressed & out the door (8 minutes)
Jog steadily(ish) for 30 minutes
22 minutes back home to shower & change... that could be your 1 hour.
Even if you only walk that entire 30 minutes, it's good to clear your head.

I usually do 10-minute prenatal yoga or stretching on YouTube and sometimes a short walk with the stroller. I try to do it during nap time or early morning short sessions make it easier.
