Sweaty Betty running bras

Are they worth it? I'm marathon training and my current bra is chewing holes in my boob skin and causing major chaffing even with body glide. I like a really firm 'pin em down' type bra for running. I'm told SB ones are good. Can anyone corroborate this please?

I go with shock absorber but haven’t tried SB

Always Shock Absorber for running or any impact for me too. The sweaty betty ones are nice for yoga/pilates/cycling but their run ones are not a patch on Shock Absorber.

Thank you both. I'll have a look at those

I’ve a whole drawer of running bras from different manufacturers and don’t love any to be honest but the sweaty Betty zero gravity running bra is one I reach for the most if it is not in the wash. I really like that the top clasp feels part of the bra and not one of those metal clips that you get on so many sports bras that feel like a cheap add on and invariably dig in (like the sweaty Betty power high impact which I wear grudgingly when there is nothing better in the drawer!). I am a 32F though so maybe if I had a smaller bust I might have better options.

I only ever wear a SB ultra running bra. I wore them before children at my leanest and now after when I've grown quite a bit whilst breastfeeding and with some baby weight too. They're lovely and snug and I don't feel a bit of movement when I run, they're great. Pricey but often less popular colours go on sale.

Thank you ladies. I'll hit the shops and try SB and Shock Absorbers and jump up and down in the fitting room. That's my test 😂

I used ro wear Shock Absorber, but now only wear Sweaty Betty zero gravity bras to run in.

Shock absorber are the best

I love Sweaty Betty sports bras, but I’m only a B cup so I buy the ones that are only rated “medium impact” (ie not meant for running) and run in them no problem. I like those ones because no wires or clips to chafe. Those ones wouldn’t be supportive enough if you are a bigger cup size though - for that, you’d need the maximum impact they recommend for running.

Truly, if you are serious about doing a marathon, don’t skimp on either bra or shoes. Don’t buy fashion crap, go to proper specialist stores and get fitted.

Enell.

Nothing else is a patch on it. Leaves Shock Absorber in the dust IMO.

I do a lot of high impact exercise such as jumping and running, and with Enell, you do. Not. Move.

Their advertising looks like they are aimed at larger ladies but they really aren't. I have worn them for decades and they are the absolute bomb

Never heard of these. Thank you I'll defo check them out. I'm a big fan of Do. Not. Move. 🙌🏻

Thank you. I do a lot of running and races anyway so always have the max hold bras and proper running shoes. ☺️

I’ve never tried SB or Elomi, but as a 38G runner, I really like the Freya Active “Dynamic” sports bra.

Menopants · 16/02/2026 09:35

Definitely sweaty betty. Shock absorbers are good but the sweaty Betty ones last longer and look nicer. Also the shock absorber sizing is bizarre and I can’t be arsed going into John Lewis and trying on 5 different sizes. I had an enell but felt like I was going into battle
