Anyone manage to actually keep up reformer pilates at home?

Hi everyone, I've been doing reformer classes for a year and love the results (I think I am starting to see!) but I can't justify the £30 per class!

I'm looking to buy a home machine or maybe one of those compact boards as I don't have too much space but I am scared of doing it wrong and not having good form without a teacher watching and correcting me. Has anyone moved their practice to their home? If so, how do you know if your form is actually right? I've tried youtube but spend half the time losing the flow as I am looking at the screen/ wondering about my form being right. Am I missing a trick or shall I just suck it up and pay for the classes? Thanks!!!

I can't seem to find any videos that instruct me on how to use the board, any ideas?

Yes it is worth it. YouTube channel Rachel’s fit Pilates has lots of reformer classes to follow.
make sure you have a mirror along side the reformer bed so you can see what you are doing. If you’ve been doing Pilates for a year surely you know what your core should feel like?

I’ve thought about this too OP (especially when I add up the cost of classes over the last few years), but like you I worry about good form, and also getting bored unless I have a good instructor to tell me what to do.

I also know that left to my own devices I’m more likely to give up easily, so personally I feel more motivated in a class setting.

That being said, 30 pounds a class is extirtionate (I’m guessing you’re in London) - can you not buy classes in bulk, or a monthly pass or something to bring the cost down?

Can you get a class pass, or join a gym with reformer included. My very fancy gym has reformer and because I go to multiple classes / week I only pay around £23/class.

And I get to use all the other facilities. I would be wary about doing reformer at home. Form is so important. And decent reformers cost £££.

Or could you mix it up with some mat classes and reformer. Mat tends to be cheaper.

I don't have a regular mat class in my routine and I think this is a mistake. Everytime I do one I find things that are pretty challenging.
