Definitely 30 day shred, mixture of weights and cardio and only 25 mins, it’s transformed my figure

Bodyfit by Amy has loads of strength workouts, I've been doing her workouts for almost 10 years. She's the only one I've found that I don't find annoying.

How strong are you now? Can you do a full length hand release press up? (None of this going from your knees rubbish). If not then you could make gains simply with a good body weight work out with maybe resistance bands (for arms) and a weighted back pack for squats.

Work on a full press up, a pull up, a hollow hold (toughest core there is) and getting good form and depth with body weight squats.

You could add in slow step ups and weighted set ups, and also jumping - jump up onto a bench. Jumping with intent is excellent for bone health. (As Stacy Sims on this)

. Also work on mobility

Rope skipping is very good for bone health and explosive power (according to my PT).

We’ve got Apple Fit+
I’m doing 10-20 min workouts every morning - loads and loads to choose from.

The Nike App is great. Loads of choice, free.

Now I'm pretty fit and always have been. My press-ups are bloody impressive if I say so myself. But it is this sort of comment which puts off beginners or people who have injuries or disabilities. Imagine a complete newbie clicks on this thread and they've got a 2026 dream of starting to build strength. And one of the first comments is dismissive and rude of their starting point. How demoralising.

OP, have you got any equipment at the moment? How much space? Is there anything you've tried and like? If you enjoy HIIT, you can incorporate strength training into this which is very effective. I started by trying a few DVDs many many years ago - Davina and Jillian Michaels at first - and now have a full set up of weights and equipment. But I've been at it for 25yrs.

When I started serious proper weight training 8 years ago, I couldn’t do a full press up. I’d been a gym goer for years and I used to do them from my knees.

The only way I progressed from doing the knees version to a full hand release press up (which is still not perfect!) was to learn the proper form, and persevere with the hard thing, failure by failure!

The main way I developed the strength for a full body weight hand release press up was by trying to do a full body hand release press up. I started by doing negatives - making sure I had good form on the downward bit and that my chest hit the ground first. I did slooooow negatives over 8 to 10 counts. I got up off the floor anyway I could - I was messy getting up for about 5 years!

It’s a really hard exercise to perfect but it builds strength like anything. Only if you persevere in doing it properly. If I’d stuck with the press ups from my knees I’d still not be able to do a proper press up.
