Putting pressure on myself!

I am mid 40’s and work full time in a stressful job. I joined the gym and I love going but am struggling to find the time. I feel like I am letting myself down lately or just not getting the best out of my time or routine?

When it is warmer and less wet and dark I am able to just get up and go outside my front door for a jog/walk early AM but this is not as practical in winter - hence why I joined the gym which is on the other side of town (and there are roadworks!)

My current routine is having to stack up exercise in longer sessions just due to lack of time.

I love all the exercises that I do and don’t want to stop them

any suggestions on improvements? Is my only option to get up earlier and do it all in the morning?

I have a big event in 3 months time and wanted to get my wobbly belly and bum a bit more in shape. I’m 5’5 and 67kg (would prefer to be 63-65 but it’s hard!)

I need to leave my house at 8am for work and have kids/pets so a 5am gym session is not very practical for me but if this is the option I will do it.

I finish at 5pm but live 10 miles away and the traffic can be so dire so I am out 8am to 6pm daily and I am STARVING hungry by 6.30pm!

Monday: rest day

Tuesday: couch to 5k after work. Have to pick up child from a club at 6.30pm so very tight timeframe

Wednesday: often have meetings late so rest day

Thursday: I go to the gym for 2.5 hours and do either legs or arms or full body, a Pilates class and then c25k. I eat dinner at work 4pm

Friday: struggle for time and traffic bad so a rest day (but if dry outside in evening I will go for a jog/run)

Saturday: try to get in at least 5 miles of a walk at least or bike ride with family activity

Sunday: get up very early and another long 2.5 hour session of weights, jogging and Pilates

Is there a gym nearer that would make scheduling easier? Wouldn’t need to be a traditional gym, maybe an outdoor bootcamp type thing which tend to be outside of town. I wouldn’t go to a gym if it meant that much travel and hassle tbh. Also I think more frequent shorter sessions would be more beneficial but not sure.

Not really. The gym on a clear day is 5 mins drive from me, but at rush hour it’s in the town centre so horrible to get to 😂

The gym near where I work is always over full and the classes wouldn’t work

It’s such a nice gym, I really love it as well. So clean and great equipment I don’t want to leave. So I think it will have to be mornings..
