Circuit training not working for me anymore - what to try instead?

Hi all, first time here and wondering if people have any suggestions. I'm in my 50s, full menopause and I've been doing circuit training for nearly 7 years but it's not really working for me anymore. I don't have a life long history of exercise & only took this up as I realised menopause + sedentary life meant too much weight gain. I've enjoyed it for a while but now I'm finding it too much. It's very cardio heavy which I struggle with and lots of jumping which I'm also starting to find hard. It just feels I need something different but I'm not sure what. Maybe more weight and balance stuff rather than running round and round a field whilst stopping to do burpees and star jumps

I have stopped doing high energy high impact classes like this. I hate jumping and didn’t feel like it did me any good! I’ve changed to lower impact versions like bodypump. You chose your weights instead of high impact body weight. Something like jogging or swimming could replace the cardio.

Strength training. Took it up at 52. Love it.

Thank you :) I'll have a look at those

I’m coming back to exercise after a break but I also used to do a lot of circuit training but the idea now doesn’t appeal. Especially on my knees.
I do weights and the odd class (I wish the music was better) but I’m really enjoying walking on a high incline in the gym. I put an audio book on a sweat buckets and gets my heart going, kinder on my knees.

If you can find a really good (i.e. personal recs from friends) pilates class near you then that might be something to try? My general observations are that quite a lot of classes are pretty ordinary but if you can find a really good teacher, someone who really knows what there talking about, if can be transformational. My teacher uses weights, bands, and various other bits of equipment but generally the principle seems to be to use the body for resistance, as it were.

Strength training and spin are a good combination, can’t be doing with jumping around anymore.
