Mobility/stretching programmes

I saw the physio this week for a shoulder problem, and she diagnosed very tight muscles. I've always been very tense/inflexible and don't want to experience further issues as I age. Can anyone recommend a good stretching or mobility programme I can follow at home? Would yoga or pilates help?

I would consider massage too. I’m always told my muscles are very tight, but massage seems to help

I am incredibly stiff- genetics I think, but worsened by sitting down and definitely ageing hasn’t helped. I have found sports massage to be great. Have every fortnight or so which is costly but such a relief afterwards. I’ ve been following a weights training programme three times a week with one Pilates class a week. But have super tight hips etc. so going to do Pilates x 2 a week (one mat, one reformer), a yin yoga session, plus a gym stretching class and a swim. Hoping that this will mean I don’t ache all the time. I’ll carry on walking the dog anyway but hope I’ll look more graceful poopa scooping soon. Programme wise- I bought the Tom Morris(?) ages ago but was too stiff to attempt most exercises comfortably. I’ve been watching. Vanjamoves on insta who is selling a different mobility method and it looks amazing. But I wonder if it’s all just genetics in the end. I’d be interested to hear how it goes for you.

Thanks for the tips. I like the sound of massage as it’s someone else doing the work! I’d thought about that for legs but hadn’t really considered for upper body which is a newer problem area for me.
