Runna App

Hi, I love to run, have run all the time - but only followed a plan when I ran a marathon in 2021.

It now looks like I'm going to be running London next year - even though I said never again! And I'm looking for a training plan that works around life, as a lot has changed work and fitness wise - I have different hours of work run less and strength train more at the moment, plus I'm a lot heavier - something I'm working on!

Rambling aside, everyone seems to be using the runna app, but for £15.99 pm or £99 for a year (more if you want it to link with strava!) I was wondering if it's really worth it. Has anyone used it, what makes it stand out from strava? Any other thoughts or niggles. I'll by syncing with my apple watch.

I use runna alongside strava for all of my race training blocks and even when I don’t have any upcoming races and just want to maintain my running in between.
They are both completely different and I wouldn’t be able to choose just one or the other. I use runna for the plan and workouts where as I use strava more for the data insights and route planning.
I think it’s worth every penny.

There are other apps as well called Coopah and Urunn, you could look at those too, they are all similar prices. Urunn is a new one and backed by Mo Farah and Charlotte Purdue.

I think you can get training plans with Strava as well if you have the paid subscription but if they've now linked with Runna maybe that's extra.

I’ve used Runna and did love it, but was just too expensive to justify renewing. I now ask Chat GPT to do my running plans, and it does a brilliant job. I then put the sessions into my Garmin app so my watch tells me when to up the pace, switch to walking etc etc.

I love Runna. I did a 2 week free trial and then did the annual plan from there. Have trained for a half and am now doing the maintenance plan before doing a marathon plan next year. I’m happy to send you a referral code which gives you two weeks free trial if you want to give it a go.

It’s just AI. The runners world mission marathon plans are free and just as good… if not better

I use the plans on Garmin which are free. I like it because the sessions load directly to your watch; useful for interval sessions where I tend to lose count!
I don’t think they are any more technical or insightful than one you can get for free off Runners World or similar.

ETA: You might be more motivated if you are paying for it though.
