Ear protectors for swimming

Following a recent ear infection, I think I need some sort of ear protection for regular swimming in a local pool.
I’ve looked online and there seems to be a variety of possibilities. Has anyone got any that they would recommend? I feel a bit squeamish about it, I don’t know if there any which feel less invasive?
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Hey! I swim a lot but don’t use ear protectors. Keen to see what the consensus / recommendation is..

Just get some cheap plastic ear plugs. They do protect regular swimmers against ear infections. You will lose them on a regular basis so don’t spend more than five pounds or so.

Use SwimEar drops, the headbands etc don’t do anything.

DD isn't a swimmer but isn't allowed water in her ears, so uses ear plugs. We did get custom made ones but she didn't feel they were much better in terms of comfort than bog standard ones, which is what she uses now.

I get swimmers ear. It’s a total nuisance.
Try these and/or search for their other ear products. They work for me.
On Amazon.

DS is prone to swimmers ear but loves the water and scuba dives. We use the oil based drops before he goes in the water which stops any getting in then Otosan ear drops on an evening (a tricky we were told in Spain by a pharmacist) and he's not had swimmers ear since (it's been about 6 years)

I'd never heard of using drops for a barrier - I'll give those a go, and also try out the earplugs *PashaMinaMio *recommended .
Thanks for the advice!

I hate the idea of something in my ears blocking out sounds as well as water. So I usually rely on my swim cap to keep the water out. In the past, I have used the olive oil drops as a preventative measure as well.

I use a pair of Speedo brand ear plugs and pull my swim cap down over my ears as an extra bit of protection, my partner prefers the Zoggs ear plugs which are like putty and can mould them over her ear canal and again puts her swim cap down over her ears
