Last few kg

I'm 4 months postpartum. Would like to get back to my pre baby weight of 50-52kg. I'm only 5'1. Currently 55kg. Any advice to lose some body fat but in a sustainable way? I'm not in any kind of rush, only that I still feel big at this weight. I'm breastfeeding which helps I think.

It's incredibly hard to lose weight through exercise - unless you are doing endurance stuff

Because your body fights - you eat a little more , you slob out a little more

True, but I want to do it through exercise, and my diet is super healthy. I'm vegan and eat porridge or fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, with nuts. Lunch and dinner always tofu and veggies, and I might have a square of dark chocolate a few times a week. If I'm hungry during the day, I'll have a piece of fruit or nuts. So I am really keen to work on exercise as I don't want to eat less.

Has anyone found that they have lost weight naturally after 4 months post partum?

I mean without trying. I also want to rebuild some of the muscle I have lost. I realise this weighs more than fat but being strong and healthy is more the priority than the actual number on the scale. Just 50-52kg is where I would normally be.

Yes, it took 9-15 months to go back to pre pregnancy weight. I really wouldn’t fret about it for ages yet.

I know this is an old thread but just wondering how you're getting on now op? We have very similar stats! I'm also 5ft1 and I was 52kg pre pregnancy, but this was when I had more muscle- my adult weight was always 48-50kg. I always did lots of cardio but no strengthening, when I started resistance work a few years ago - weights/yoga/pilates my weight increased to 52kg but my core looked much better. I'm now 4 weeks postpartum and I know it's very early days but I'm feeling really rubbish about my shape. This is my third baby and with the first 2 I lost all weight in a couple of weeks and my shape didn't really change, I realise I was very lucky and that's not the norm! I'm 53.5kg but as I had to stop weights at 6 months pregnancy I feel as though I'm about 4kg over my normal weight as no longer have the muscle mass. My stomach is also very wobbly and I have love handles/back fat which I've never had before. Like you my diet is very healthy. My plan is to start weights/yoga once I've been signed off by GP - although due to breastfeeding I'm realistically not going to be able to leave baby to do much. I don't really care what the scales say, it's about shape/how clothes fit for me.
My advice to you would be to focus on building some muscle and focusing on strength, like you say it may not lead to weight loss but will have positive effects on your shape.

I lost weight down to my normal weight/size both times just by breastfeeding (by about 9 months I’d say). I started exercising at 3 months again both times (other than pre/post natal Pilates I did at home every day) but I’d say due to time constraints it took a few years for the exercise to contribute to my calorie balance and shape again
