I have gallstones. Have had them for over a year and it is beginning now to stop me from eating something other than a few bits of turkey during the day and a slice of chicken.

I am still weight training as I don’t want to stop and it also helps with the pain.

I know my food is going to get less and less over the next little while till it can come out. So I’m worried about getting enough protein in during this time. I’m not lifting really heavy weights but I do go to the gym five times a week.

is this going to start being a problem? I am eating mostly fruit and veg and potato now.

I also have ibs and am wheat and dairy free. So not sure protein powders would be something my stomach can take.

I know you say dairy and wheat free but there are vegan GF protein powders, they may be worth a try to see if they are manageable with your ibs, maybe start using a lower dose and build up so it doesn’t have a huge effect at once?

Are lentils manageable? What about quinoa? That is a complete protein so really good. if you are managing veg and potatoes you could make lots of soups/stews and add lentils and/or quinoa.

Nope. Cannot do either of those. Which would be helpful

You might be better finding a nutritionist who can help build a specific diet for your needs. I can sympathise though, as I struggle with protein intake and I don't have your medical issues. I hope you find a solution.

You can buy a lot of clear proteins now so more like juice/squash than milkshake. Might be worth a try?
