Walking pads

Has anyone got one? Do you use it regularly?

Over the past year I've really got into walking- tend to go out at lunch and in the evening, at a minimum. However it's getting darker earlier and there aren't many walking routes round here thar are well lit so I don't feel v safe walking later on. Wondering if it's worth getting a walking pad? Would aim to use it in the evenings when watching tv, and potentially could get a standing desk in my office to walk whilst in meetings
Anyone else bought one and not had it become an expensive ornament??

i have one, as does my daughter for this very reason. They are quiet and only go up to 6km (sometimes less). I live in a flat and don’t annoy my neighbour which was my only concern when I purchased it.

Mine is a pad without a rail, has a remote or can be changed via my mobile and can be folded in two and slid under my sofa. My daughters has a handle and stands upright for storage. I do place mine on a rug and yoga mat when using as I have wooden floors. I’m on holiday at the moment but it will be in regular use on my return.

We often chat on the phone getting our steps in!

i got mine on a deal from Amazon. And some companies do blue light/NHS discounts too.

honestly I love mine.

Yes I bought one as well as a rising desk both on the cheaper end from Amazon and I love it. I have it on very slowly for typing and it’s great for strolling along during meetings where I don’t have to contribute much!

As an added bonus if I don’t feel like going out at lunchtime I can just veg on the couch which I’d sometimes very welcome, because I know I’ve been getting moving all morning.

I think it would be perfect for what you want to do, so long as you get one slim/ portable enough to put under the couch out of the way (mine has wheels at one end) Also be aware it gets louder the faster you go so you’d need to turn tv up to compensate. It’s fine at slow speed.

Thanks both that's really helpful. Definitely like the idea of getting a riser desk and walking during meetings where I am just listening. Found a link to one with a good discount, just need to persuade DH now

I have one and a desk riser too.

it’s good. I do not stride out but it just stops me from sitting for hours on end.

im an ultra runner and was looking for more ways to increase time on feet so it serves its purpose.

I don’t ever run on it. Just literally amble at my desk. I like it!
